Something A Little Different...

3 kids were listed on Reece's Rainbow today.  A 3 year old, an 8 year old, & a  6 year old.  All of them orphans & in search of families!  They live in Africa, & are as cute as can be!

J.J. is one of the sweetest little 3 year old boys you will ever meet, and has no place to go but up! He needs a family excited about meeting him where he is and giving him every opportunity to shine.
It is believed that J.J. has spina bifida and hydrocephalus. He does not walk, but scoots around the orphanage where he lives. He is social and enjoys being part of any activity happening at the home. J.J. cannot receive the treatment and care that he needs in his country.
To review J.J.’s file, one must have a pre-application filled out with the agency. Families have 5 business days to review a file. At the time of commitment, applicants must be interviewed by the agency’s Adoption Coordinator to ensure a good match.

Jessi is a beautiful 8 year old girl.  She has been living in a children’s home  since  May, 2008, and is HIV+.  Her orphan investigation has been completed and she is legally free for adoption.  Jessi has a number of siblings unavailable for adoption as they do not share a mother.
Jessi needs a family able to take on the unique challenges of an older child adoption and willing to help her reach her full potential.
To review Jessi’s file, one must have a pre-application filled out with the agency.  Families have 5 business days to review a file.  At the time of commitment, applicants must be interviewed by the agency’s Adoption Coordinator to ensure a good match.

Isaac is a handsome 6 year old boy. He has great potential and needs a family eager to help him reach it!
Isaac is HIV+, currently on ARV’S, and doing quite well. Isaac is orphaned and is legally free for adoption. Isaac has a  number of siblings not available for adoptions as they live with their fathers. Isaac lived with a kind woman until recently when the financial strain became too much. He was then taken to a rescue home.
To review Isaac’s file, one must have a pre-application filled out with the agency. Families have 5 business days to review a file. At the time of commitment, applicants must be interviewed by the agency’s Adoption Coordinator to ensure a good match.

If you want more info just comment on this post or email me @ AlyssaGoodhue@hotmail.com!  I love these dark skinned sweet faced kids. <3  If I could I would bring'em' home with me!

Don't Be Late For This Important Date! :)

Hey Hey!  It's Alyssa, sorry we haven't been posting much.  We have been super busy recently! Although we do have a date for the "Walk For Compassion".  The last weekend in May, so the 26th!  So don't forget to sign up so I can give you a sponsor sheet!  We are excited, to be doing this & cannot wait to see how much money we can raise!  What we will be doing with the money is still up in the air.  We have a bunch of ideas but we still aren't quite sure.  I have emailed a bunch of different organizations but haven't gotten any emails back.  So we may just end up donating the money to a ministry like Amazima Ministries.  So when we figure that out we will be sure to let you guys know! Feel free to share ideas with us! :)

Go to the EVENTS tab at the top of the page to find out more about the walk!

When I wrote the letter I shared a very simple Bible verse with her that will remind to her to love in everything :)  1 Corinthians 16:14 " Do everything In Love".  I also told her that I pray for her daily!

Meet Rita

Hey guys,
As I mentioned in our "About Us" page, this is a not so little girl who is in need of a family.  Her name is Rita.  She is turning 12 this year & has Down syndrome.  She lives in an adult mental institution, & that is NOT a good place to be.  She look scared & lonely.  She needs love!  So will you help us spread the word about her?  Will you say a prayer for this sweet girl?

This sweet girl needs a family & fast.  She has been an orphan her whole life.  She has never jumped on beds, eaten cereal, seen the stars, or played out side. Save her?

So many people...

Hey everyone! This is my first blog post EVER! I'm excited that I actually CAN post from my phone, which I thought I couldn't. This weekend, my family is on vacation in California, visiting a bunch of the parks and what not. There's a place right outside disney land called Downtown Disney that we went to last night. I'm not really a huge fan of crowds, in fact, they really frustrate me. So recently, when I am for some reason caught in a swarm of people, I try to focus on how God loves every single one of them! He just adores them! Suddenly, my whole attitude changed. I started to realize that each of these people are unique and amazing in their own personal way! The lady with for screaming kids, the little girl who lost her parents, (but found them!) and the guy who stole our pizza. God has a heart for every one of these people, and He desperately wants to have an intimate personal relationship with them. I know this, but do they? Do they know? Do they have any idea how much the Creator of the universe loves them? A good number of them probably dont. And here's what really hit me: how will they ever hear about this if no one shares it with them? Wow. I don't know about you, but I dont want to bottle up this love! I want each person in the world to experience the love the love that Jesus Christ has for them. Let's go! Let's do this! I'm ready! :D "i dont wanna wait for someone else to do what God has called me to do myself." ~Ellyn

A Little Encouragement!

So recently I have felt a little down & have needed a pick-me-up!  God new exactly what I needed & showed me this verse last night & I would love to share it with you! :)

Hebrews 12:12-13
"Therefore lift your dropping hands, strengthen your weak knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather healed."

Now what this meant to me is that even when we feel down & discouraged that we need to lift our hands & praise God through it.  Because no matter what He is going to make it better.  He loves us & only wants the best for us.  This whole past week of me feeling down has only been a test of my strength & faith in Him!

A few days ago Kaitlyn had posted a status on Facebook that said "God will let you bend but He wont let you break."  Which means a lot to me because sometimes God needs us to bend to the point of almost breaking so that He can help us over come the hard things in life!

So when you are feeling down or discouraged raise your hands & praise the almighty, all powerful, all knowing God, who gave you breath!

Creations Reveal Your Majesty

As I was laying on my roof looking up through the trees at the sky, I was amazed.  By something I have seen a million times.  The clouds, the trees, the leaves, the bright green color...I was mesmerized.  The sound of the birds chirping, the lady bug that crawled on my arm, the sun that shone through the trees.  Although these things I have seen a million times, they had a new meaning.

I started thinking about how happy Veve, & her family will be when they find out that she can now go to school, & have so much more.  How happy they will be to know that someone else besides Veve's, family loves & chose her.  Imagining the smile that will come across her perfect face. The way she will feel.  All because God is amazing in every way possible.  He lead us to Veve, & wants to use us to show the world how truly fantastic He is.  What an honor.

God, the creator of the universe wants to use me, a sinner to touch & bless someone. In fact, He wants to use every single one of us!  To make change and a difference.  We are His creations & we should be spitting images of God.  Showing every one that God is almighty, All knowing & all powerful.  Are your hands ready & your hearts willing?  God will use you in so many different ways if you let Him.  So are you ready? :)

It's official!!

We are now a sponsor for a little girl who is 6 named Veve in Togo, Africa!! :D  I cannot not explain my excitement!  Now we just have to get the info packet :)  I am going to write a letter to her now!

Up Coming Event!

We are putting together a "Walk For Compassion", the money raised from this walk with be split in two.  Half of it will go towards the child we sponsor & the other half will go towards buying shoes & clothes for those in need in Africa!

How the walk will work is we will determine the amount of miles we wish to walk & then I will find people who would like to walk with us.  Each person that walks with us will be given a Sponsor sheet a week or 2 in advanced so that they can get sponsors.  You will explain to the sponsor what the "Walk For Compassion" will be benefiting.  Your sponsor can either give you a "Lump sum" of how ever much they wish to give or they can donate by the amount of miles we walk.  EXAMPLE:  The Johnson family will give $4 for every mile we walk!
You will be asked to try your best to get at least 3 sponsors.

Now you do not have to live here in AZ to participate! One of our loyal members Kaitlyn lives in VA & is going to try & do a walk in her town. So what will need to happen is if you are interested in doing the walk please email me at ReadyHandsWillingHearts@gmail.com & let me know where you will be holding the walk & how many miles you will be walking.  Then feel free to invite friends & family to join you on this walk!

We will give a deadline for money collecting.  I discussed with my parents how we would get the money from y'all.  So what it came down to is either getting cash or sending to us through Pay-Pal.  My mom doesn't want to risk getting checks & then having it mess with their bank accounts.  So cash or Pay-Pal is how it will be.  If you have questions feel free to email me.

I will let you guys no when we decide on a date for the walk! :)

Together We Will Save

Hello, Kaitlyn here!  It's my very first post on Ready Hands, Willing Hearts!  I'm super exciting to see how God will use me & the other girls in this new project, to say the least.   I know that Ellyn & Alyssa really feel that God has put this desire in their hearts, & I'm happy to say God has put that same desire into my heart.  This isn't extremely new to me.  My family use to sponsor a fourteen year old girl through Compassion, her name was Angie, if I remember correctly.  I believe she was the eldest child of seven in her family & I only wish I could remember what country she lived in.  We sponsored her for a good couple of months, sent letters & pictures to her.  I had have been no older then ten at the time, I can just barely remember it.  Our whole family loved Angie to death!  She was the sweetest girl!  Unfortunately God had another plan, soon after becoming Angie's sponsor my father lost his job went the place he worked at closed.  We had to sadly stop sponsoring her.

Money is so tight for so many people now.  We live in an entirely different world.  Most people can't afford $40 a month for someone else.  Some people are just barely getting by themselves.  I've watched so many families suffer through these stuff times.  And I truly understand that people just can't afford to sponsor for children, when just passing by with feeding their own.  I so get that.

To sponsor a child it will cost $39 a month.  Alyssa & I are currently jobless.  I believe Ellyn may be new into working. She may not have a job, I'm unsure of it at the moment.    So the three of us can't pay the total $39 a month.  We only wish we were in that spot now, but since we aren't I've thought of a little idea we could try.

I'm sure there are a lot of people who are wanting to sponsor a child but like I mentioned before, just can't afford to pay the whole forty a month.  So I've came up with the plan to allow people to share a cost of sponsoring!  It could become SO successful, & I pray it will!

We need 4 people willing to donate $10 dollars to help us sponsor for a child.  Just FOUR people.  Can you?  Do you know someone who might like to?
Now you won't be put under a contract or anything.  We won't make you pay EVERY month. You can just do this month & then we can find another person to help the next.

$10 is "a lot" to take out of your bank account, but it's a whole lot more do-able then $40.   Could you do that for one of the precious children suffering?  Could you help us change someones life?  That ten dollars will make a MUCH bigger difference then I bet you could even imagine!  God will use that $10 & multiply it!  I know He will!

These are God's children, red, yellow, black or white we are all precious in HIS sight!

We're going to make us an email address soon but until then please contact me HERE & tell me if you are willing to donate just $10 to save a life.

We're looking for four people to donate, TEN dollars.  Please contact us if you are willing to.

Waiting Children!

So I am going to try & at least once a week post some kids from Compassion who are waiting for sponsors for you guys! :)  I am going to do it by sections, I want to start off with the age group 3-6 girls & boys in Uganda, Africa.  This place is very dear to my heart!  I feel God wants me to go on a missions trip there when I am able! :)  So here are some of the kids! (Click their names to see there profile on Compassion!)

My heart breaks for these kids.  Knowing that they have nothing & we have everything we could ever need at our finger tips, but yet we take it for granted as if we are guaranteed our tomorrow.  Our tomorrow is something that no one can promise us because it is not in our power to decide.  We should be doing all that is meaning full & for the Kingdom Of God with our numbered days.  But instead we sit here (I am guilty of this daily.) as if there is nothing we can do.  I think a thought that goes through our heads often is "I can't do anything. Besides someone else will get to it before me."  When in reality what if God is sitting in Heaven saying this is "Your" child.  Waiting for you to make a move.  We need to have our eyes, ears, & hearts open to what God has to say.

These kids are such an inspiration to me.  They are so satisfied with the little that they have.  In their minds all they need are their family, which is everyone around them.  I wish everyone thought that way.  If only we all treated each other like these kids do.  Kids like these are TRUE images of God.  You can see His unconditional love in their eyes.  I want to live like that.

What we are called to do.

The Bible calls us to be defenders of the widows, fathers to the fatherless and to give to the poor. We as Christians Are supposed to show the unconditional love of Christ to anyone and everyone that comes & goes in our lives. The Bible Also says in Proverbs 24:12 "Once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows what we know & holds us responsible to act." Now that your eyes have been opened to all of the kids on Compassion international that are in desperate need of a sponsor you can't ignore it.

You need to act! Whether you sponsor your own child our you help us sponsor Vicencia you need to do it! This isn't something you can just ignore. These kids lives depend on you sponsoring them! There are 88 kids alone in Ghana Africa ranging from the age of 3 years old to 22 years old that need sponsors. So will you step up & help? You can sponsor a child on your own for $38 a month. Or you can help us sponsor Vicencia by donating just $5 dollars to the Ready Hands, Willing Hearts Fund. Let's be the hands & feet of God & make a difference.

Meet Vicencia!

We just chose the child that we wish to sponsor!  Her name is Vicencia, she is 4 years old & lives in Ghana.  Before we can become her official sponsor we have to have the $40. So are there any followers out there that want to bless this sweet girl?  Even just $5 dollars to our RHWH Fund will help us! :)

Meet Vincencia :)

A little more about us...

So I would like to tell you a little more about how Ready Hands, Willing Hearts got started!  We a small group of teens have the desire to reach out to God's people & show them His love.  This idea was laid on our hearts a few months ago & we just couldn't let it go to waste.  So we got thinking.  How can we make a difference?  This is when I remembered the site Compassion International.  I knew that we could raise enough money to be able to sponsor a child every month!  I also knew that when you sponsor a child through Compassion international that you can write them letters & send them things! Not only was it a good way for us to help someone out but we could build a friendship with this child as well!  It was a great idea put in our heads by God, He was calling us to do something significant!  That would make a difference!  So that is what we did.  We have now set out on a mission to make a change in this world.  I cannot wait to see who's lives we will touch through this Organization.

We will pick the child we wish to sponsor sometime this week!  So keep checking back to see which child we start building a relationship with!  If you are not in a place to give to the RHWH Fund (Ready Hands Willing Hearts) Prayer is very powerful, so help us out by saying a prayer for us & the lives that we may touch.

Introduction

Ready Hands, Willing Hearts is a reach out ministry put together by a small group of teens that have the desire to make a difference.  We have chosen to make a difference by sponsoring a child from another country through Compassion International.  We think it will be a great way to show that we the chosen generation can rise up, take action & make change.

God has laid this desire on our hearts & it would be foolish of us not to act.  We know it's risky considering we don't have jobs & will be sponsoring this child through donations & fundraisers.  But we also know that our God is bigger.  We are putting our full faith & trust into Him as we venture into this new territory.   We hope that you will be with us on our journey & that you will pray with us.  We hope to bless many people through this ministry & let our light shine for God.

God Bless.
Alyssa.
